I remember the feeling. Gareth graduated a year before me, so there was a year when he was in MD and I was in CT. His visits always made us happy, but once he left campus again I felt like part of me was gone too.

Take heart in the love you two share -- many people wish for that. That'll no doubt lend you a little strength each day. Remember that she loves you for you (one more reason to take good care of yourself), and that she takes comfort in you feeling the same for her. Distance doesn't alter that. And DCGG is right; in time, one of you will most likely move to be closer to the other.

Antibiotics might temporarily help until they run out, then it'll come back again.

You'll probably want to get it lanced properly.

I was really upset that I didn't hear from matt when he got out of work this morning. He hasn't been feeling well the last couple of days. Come to find out he went to the hospital after work and they said his ulcer got worse and they want him to stop doing anything and just take medication. I know he won't do that because he has to work. I feel really bad for being upset with him and I can't get ahold of him to find out what he is going to do.

Oh no... I hope he does take care of himself, and that you can get hold of him soon. And I hope his meds are good -- if he's using something OTC (or if he can't afford his RX), maybe generic Prilosec will help him (they've got it at Target). He might also want to check websites on how to deal with ulcers diet-wise.

My rant: I love my sister-in-law, but I'd like to find a way to wake her up.

She's been with this guy for 5+ years -- I've met him, he's kind of a cold fish. Quiet is not a problem, but he really doesn't let anyone get to know much about him; dispassionate, secretive, idk. Her mom has never been wild about him, and he leaves the rest of us guessing. Well, lately we've started to hear some things come out of her mouth that *really* sound unlike her, and she's kind of been dampening down her outgoing, seize-the-day style. We think it's b/c of him.

She spent a month away from him, in the U.S. (they live overseas), and started to make comments that sounded more like her old self again -- and hinted that she's learning what she's been missing. She then told him she wanted the two of them to take a break for a while. And, mature dude that he is, he started crying, and making her cry, and sending flowers, and talking a bunch of bull about buying a house (presumably for them; they don't yet live together though). We supported her in her choice, and felt like this was the healthiest option for her. Her dad even returned overseas with her so she wouldn't feel so lonely/pressured in this transition.

Well, Mister Wonderful seems to have won her over. She's back with him and acting as though there was never a doubt in her mind. Here's the part that makes me want to flick her in the temple: she's now blaming her mother, her father and several people within typing distance for "trying to break them up."

She really needs to step back from the situation and figure out what *she* wants, instead of shirking responsibility by blaming others for her actions. It's OK to question a relationship, or any big life decision. But you can't pretend a problem doesn't exist just b/c it's scary. I once saw a sculpture called "The Only Way Out is Through." I think that's apt here -- you'll get through tough stuff, and stronger too, but you do have to face it, sister dear.

^^Well I might be able to give a little bit of insight on this. Since you don't know very much about him it seems to me that there is something he is doing to draw her in. I know when I was with anthony he was very abusive. He was quiet around my family and friends because he wanted nothing to do with them and didn't like them because they weren't his choice of people to hang out with.

Anyway he was very abusive to me. At first he seemed like a dream come true. He would buy my smokes (I was underage at the time) He took me out to little places like restraunts and we went window shopping all the time. I was very excited. He was my first constant bed room lover and he told me he loved me and wanted to start a family with me. It wasn't until later that he started ditching me for his friends, all we ever did was hang out with his friends while they were smoking weed or going to the store for small drug related objects or still looking around. I was lucky if I got a hamburger from McDonald's when I was hungry.

He started to hit me. Not often but he did. He would always come back and say sorry right after so I didn't think much of it. He used me for my money because since all of his money went to HIS food, gas and drugs I had to pay for what else we needed. He would rape me. When I wouldn't be in the mood he would have his way with me anyway. He started being emotionally abusive by calling me fat and saying I was worthless. I literally thought that was love and that was the best thing I could get.

I didn't realize he was abusive to me until over a year after he left me for his friends gf that had herpies. Luckily I didn't get anything. My point is he might not being doing all of this to her, but while she is with him she won't see what abusive manipulative things he is doing to her until much much later after things with them are over if they ever are. The only thing you can do is try to help her as much as possible and be an ear. I know it isn't much help but that is what she needs as well has advice over and over and over and over.

^^ Thanks for the insight. I think you may have hit the nail on the head as far as him being manipulative. Her mom has suggested that in the past; I think she spotted it before anyone else in the family.

I feel bad getting so upset with my sister in law... I just don't want to see her lash out at her mom and dad, and lie to herself. You are right about lending an ear whenever possible, and being there for her. At this stage I hope she does eventually leave him, but regardless, we need to be there for her and assure her we'll never turn our backs.

What Mom taught me from her experience has helped me to spot some things, but sometimes I still don't see it coming. We're just going to have to stay in my sis-in-law's corner, even if she thinks we're being pains in the a$$.

For the first time I'm darning my fast healing. The bruise on my arm is quickly disappearing.

It's from her biting down rather uncontrollably hard during... activities.

Apparently I'm particularly proficient when I'm drunk. >.>

I miss her giggling when she saw my arm the next morning. :\

I don't feel very well. my stomach is churning and acidic. I'm starting to get cramps. I'm starting to get the feeling of not being able to breath again. Like I need to burp acid but can't.

^^ That does kind of sound like acid reflux. You've dealt with some stress lately, so that might be the case.

A customer came in as soon as we opened this morning with a drawing he bought over the weekend. He said "He is going to put a frame on it for us" (I asked him who he meant, and apparently he meant my boss, but made it sound like the frame would be free with the art -- which it's not) and then said "We're going to pick it up Wednesday." Well, thank you for informing me when your framing will be done! Hope we have something in stock that you'll actually like, b/c if we need to order, we'll miss your deadline!

I wonder if he saw that I was under 60 and not a guy, and assumed I was stupid?

I like what I do; I'm just tired of doing it for thankless a$$holes.

I woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning and am feeling cranky and irritable. Also noticed that when I was out on Friday, el jefe gave the Spanish speaking folks test in English...and then expected me to translate everything for them today. No, that's not the way it works, bub.

^^ RedAngel..sounds like your boss sold that pic to that customer. Is it possible he could have pitched/sweetened the deal with.. "Just bring it back in and we can get that framed and ready for you by Wed. and or "any time next week?"

Already gave the man a price.. or eee could have forgot to mention there's an additional charge for that?

Everyone has been so cranky today.

Matt was cranky because I accidentally pulled his infected eyebrow ring with my hair, he didn't sleep well, his phone wasn't holding the best of charges and acting weird, his dad was taking too long shopping, no one would work for him today so he missed going to the show that we were two months early for, he blamed me for ignoring him when he stopped helping his dad to visit me before I left while I was just sitting on my bed with my computer open not even looking at it, he complained about wanting to put bigger gauges in that hurt him, because I'm on my girly time so he couldn't get any, because my mom was bugging him, people kept calling him while he was trying to nap before work and his boss is being a d**k.

Zombie was being cranky because it took her a while to actually start winning at the card game we were playing with our friends.

My mom... I don't even know why she was cranky.

My brother because I wanted to talk to him and he chose to talk to me before going to sleep.

Ugh it's just ugh. I should start cleaning my room and doing my homework. I wanna clean more but I know my mom would just complain saying that she has to work and I'm bothering her. I'm putting my homework off not only because I don't wanna do it, but I would rather have someone around that understands biology so they can help me through the questions so I can maybe understand it a little better.

The one flippin kid who is left on campus is the most annoying one and he is flippin STALKING ME! I can't do anything without him bugging me. He goes over the whole building trying to find me and he constitantly wants to do stuff wth me! I want classes back so I don't have to deal with him! GRRRR

I've been trying to get some friends to help me put together a scrapbook for our friend Kiti who's birthday party is coming up on Saturday. Each person was to contribute a page or two and I would put the book together. While I initially had a good number of positive responses from my friends, some of them have dropped out of the project. I was hoping to get as many people as possible to participate, but so far I only have four commitments. I guess that's still better than none.

Oh, one of those who's actually following through....she just threw a bunch of photos together on a Power Point slide that I have to print out. I dunno. I thought it was tacky. I had been hoping for real 12x12 scrapbook pages, with pics and glued-on embellishments and what not. I guess I was asking for too much.

People suck.
