| So happy to be done with all the wedding nonsense! I'm just hoping they pay back the loan quickly. My relationship with the couple has been weird these past few months (and in all honesty, we weren't exactly BFFs before the engagement), so I've been thinking about slowly severing ties with the newly married couple. | |

| ^^ That sounds like a really god idea. Why be friends with people who drain your money and energy? Got a coupon for a free pair of undies from Vicky's. Redeemed that today -- feels nice to walk out of VS with something, without making even a small dent in my checking acct. | |

Good site and excellent quote. Both are steps in the right direction: we need to consider that learning outside the linear norm is not a deficiency or disability. More likely it means you're wired in a way that'll help you find innovative solutions and more easily think outside the box. - endless dark wrote:

Jellybeans. I like holiday candy in general, but Easter candy carries good childhood memories for me. Not of the candy itself, necessarily, but it just reminds me of that time of year: the start of New England's thaw (or so we hoped, lol), crocuses poking through, and other cheesy stuff.

| Excited to get started on this baby. I'm only interested in the under-bust and skirts, but the both outfits are to die for. | |

| ^^ Oh awesome! I'm getting a free blowout tomorrow morning. (For the fellas: "blowout" is hair-related. It's the use of a round brush and blow dryer to dry hair so it's straight.) The salon I go to is having training sessions for new stylists, so I thought I'd sign up to be a guinea pig. Hopefully I won't end up with fried hair, but if I do, I think it would be reasonable to ask for some samples of super-deep conditioner. | |

| It was cool, for the most part. The student was there with the owner of the salon (who gave the class), and my usual stylist (who was there as a teaching assistant, more or less). The student was a little rough-handed, but ironically it was the owner who burned my scalp a couple times with the dryer while she was teaching drying techniques -- she apologized though. Thankfully my stylist basically got everything looking good again once the owner left and while the student was in the bathroom. Would I do it again though? Maybe not. | |

| After dealing with a ton of sh*t from our landlord, Will and I finally have a green light to break our lease with no consequences. This is excellent. It means I'll have some spare money, and will be savoring this as my last summer of freedom before graduating and having to re-enter the workforce.
We're moving out at the end of May (after finals). I have a few summer classes, but they end in mid-July, and after that I'm planning on using my spare money to buy some camping gear and will then be backpacking across part of the Appalachian Trail. I -was- going to get a job, but I'll have two and a half months of freedom, $3000 that I'd otherwise be spending on rent and utilities. I may not have another opportunity like this for many years, so I may as well take it.

Ahh Appalachian Trial. The new euphemism for boning an exotic lady while your wife doesn't give a sh*t.

| I'm debating whether to do a straight shot over the course of a month, or do it in parts. If I do it in parts, I'll be doing a few different week-long hikes between points where transit is available (since I lack a car/license) if that's the case, I'm definitely hiking from the Franconia Notch area in New Hampshire to, again, a bit north of Mount Washington, as well as hiking part of the trail in New York. Beyond that I'm still figuring out where I can find bus or train stations close to the trail.
If I do a straight shot, I still need to calculate time/mileage, so I'm not sure what I'll be doing for that...
