I know I haven't posted here much since getting sick, but for what it's worth, I've been generally useless about 1/2 the time since getting sick, so it's nothing personal. lol  In short... I think I'm kicking cancer's a$$.  Eight chemos shrank the tumor to invisibility on MRI and mammo/ultrasound.  Lumpectomy and lymph node removal performed one week ago; lymph nodes are clear of cancer and lump contained less than one millimeter of cancerous tissue.  Which is out of me now.

Radiation is still the next step; there are likely some hideous cotton wireless bras in my future, but that's a very small complaint.  And with a push from biotin supplements, a small amount of hair is coming back.  I'm almost back to that Natalie-Portman-in-V-for-Vendetta look.  Come mid-summer, I'll likely be "on the other side of all this" (oncologist's words), and all I'll have left to do is mentally process all this craziness.  I've got a few therapist referrals to help with that, in case I need them.

My new faux fireplace is here and assembled; it makes my living room look so much more cozy.

My new desk is coming in tomorrow.

My new phonograph came in today.

Came home on my lunch hour and jumped in the pool.

Radiation treatment finished last week.  I'm now classified as NED (no evidence of disease).  They don't use terms like "cancer free" at the treatment center b/c they consider it a jinx, basically.  So now, I go to follow-up appts, pay some medical bills (for which I plan to get my very first credit card, lol), and go grow some hair, I guess.  Life goes on.  Not like nothing ever happened, but hopefully a little better each day.

I was extraordinarily fortunate to beat cancer, let alone beat cancer with so much of me still intact.  Still have my original "pair", minus a questionable lump.  I'm down 6 lymph nodes, but that's fewer than could have been, and they were all cancer-cell-free.

So, met some family I didn't know existed a few days back, apparently I have the same laugh as one of the great uncles I've never met...

Just learned we're getting a bonus on top of our bonus.

I have brought home to my parent's house a new kitten that I found at work. I was only able to snap one picture of her at work but will try to get more to share.

It's a good thing I checked to see who I was working with today before I headed to work because it turns out I'm off today.

I'm working on pattern drafting for the first time in years. It's frustrating at times, but the sense of accomplishment I get from it makes it all worth it. I'm also just happy to be doing something creative.

My landlady finally fixed my heat.

pretty good birthday yesterday, had a banzai burger with fries at red robins, a piece of red velvet cheesecake (not at RR), got my ID updated and was pretty much left alone. No gifts, no fake sentiment or gratitude from anyone including me, no parties, it couldn't have been much better...

It's noon, my feet and legs are killing me but I'm home and I no longer need to enter the wilds for another 25 hours...

Got a lovely fruit basket from one of my clients.
