Idiot! A-FRIKIN'-MEN!!! Gah, I can't stand that. I'll be watching one of my favorite animated movies, and my dad's like, "why don't we watch a real movie?" Besides, I think animated movies tend to be scarier than "adult" movies. Anybody watched "All Dogs Go to Heaven", recently? Brrr...

Over here, you pretty much only get "carded" if you are buying alcohol or cigarettes, so to be asked for your ID is kind of a compliment to the older people. "What? You're 50? I can't look older than 18!"

| ^ Sure, if you wanted it to. I think that's just up to the individual, because not everyone comprehends things in the same way or mm has the same way of thinking. So certain word usage is left open to interpretation.

| the "eh" on the end of words that shouldn't have it. Kitteh, puppeh, bunneh etc. And of course the misspelled "teh & meh" (the & me) Teh is just lazy spelling and meh is a word and it doesn't mean "me".
Oh, also "gooder" I don't know how or why this is getting popular and actually being used in commercials but it is... Gooder id not a word...

| ^^ "Gooder"? I think of the "-eh" words as being playful (albeit overused) so they don't bother me as much, but "gooder"? That one tweaks my grammar nerve. I've realized I have a number of little pet peeves, but mostly they fall under one big category: Fashionable Ignorance. Definition: people who pretend to know very little, in an effort to be liked by ignorant friends. Also, people who have no desire whatsoever to learn more, and get snobbish and crabby ("uh, OK, whatever!") when faced with something they don't know. A refusal to learn or to use their existing knowledge. "Gooder" is a great example. People used to be rewarded for sounding intelligent; I don't know what happened. | |

This is a bit of a soapbox moment for me, prepare yourself. Society has been condition to think being fat, lazy, stupid and in-debt is not only normal, but often times cool. Look at the television stars, mostly reality television; these people are by-in-large vacant of any depth in thought or creation and have no talents with which to speak of. Yet they have attained some pseudo level of fame and fortune because companies have capitalized on the human-being's natural voyeuristic nature. The youth see this, and say; "I want to be rich and famous too", but their archetypes have done this without being talented or smart, so it reassures them that they too can be famous and rich without being good or educated at anything in particular. This mindset has breed the rise of MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, blogs, vlogs and the lot; the idea that as long as a lot of people are paying attention to you in some manner, you're important and famous. Its' devalued the very idea of fame and celebrity so that anyone can attain it, and since our sedentary society hates both physical and mental effort, standards have lowered as well. This adheres to pop-music, pop-fashion, pop-art, and pop-culture in general: the simplest and most immature concepts sell because the youth are sold these things in bright and shiny packages and told how great they are. It's why the youth and many in their 20's and 30's feel this powerful need to purchase the next shiny blinking phone, camera, or portable music gadget, because your placement in society is in question if you haven't spent too much money on the same overpriced and soon-to-be-outdated machine that everyone else has. This lazy, stupid, out-of-shape and indebted society doesn't know its' history and isn't aware of current events or happenings, because those things aren't cool: American Idol, Jersey Shore, and a phone with a computer in it are cool. Grammatically we're sub-standard because spelling words out and using proper punctuation is not only time consuming but requires intelligence, and the hustle and bustle of the important lives of teens and 20-somethings is far too busy and important for that. Call me a conspiracy theorist if you will, but I believe that the media (which is owned and controlled by members of the richest 1% of the world population), have helped do everything they can to market to the youth that being lazy, stupid, fat, and in-debt is cool. Because it's easier to trick, cheat and control those people, than it is the educated, passionate and healthy people. The banks, the media, and major corporations, all of whom have their hands in funding political parties; have done everything they can in the last 100 years to make a society of serfs. A society of people who believe what they're told and never question, consume but not produce, and fall in line when they're ordered or suggested. On a personal note, I met a girl in an art class and we really hit it off, she was really cute and really nice. A bit younger than me, 22 when I was 27 to be exact, but that's not much. I left a message on her phone about two weeks after class ended where I said: "Hey what's up? I was wondering what you're up to this weekend, there's a party on Saturday if you wanna come with me. Let me know?" Her reply, and I sh*t you not, was in text form and this exactly: "OMG im @ work so cant talk. Id <3 togo 2 a party but hava fam thing. If i can leave early ill hit u up cuz it be gr8 to chill, c u soon. xoxo" I right then and there made a mental note to never sleep with her ever, that is no joke, because I want nothing to do with a human being that believes that that message is an acceptable way to communicate. I might be an a$$ for thinking that, but I demand a slightly higher standard from the people around me, especially the ones who get to know me that well. ok, rant over.

| ^^ Bingo, bingo, and bingo. I agree. The thing that most blows my mind, though, is just what ridiculous ends people will go to for $$$. From the sheeple and their gadget lust up to the string-pullers who just keep wanting more... how much happiness do they thing $ is going to buy them, anyway? I guess none of them have noticed the nagging feeling of emptiness that comes with having loads of cash and stuff but still feeling unfulfilled? Amelia Earhart said "Fears are paper tigers." Well, money is a paper god -- flimsy and inconsistent; not worth worship because it's bound to fail you. (OK, that was my rant. lol) Spooky, no, you're not an a$$ for distancing yourself from an idiot. Some people and behaviors need to be rejected. It's awesome to hear you won't drop your standards. | |

| Preach it Brother Spooky! I too have a high standard (I guess it's high considering what I am surrounded by) of who I would let myself sleep with because there is always a small risk (at least at this point until I get a tubal ligation) of them becoming a father. | |
