Second story that I had to do for creative writing. Opinions please!
I am a woman. Most men tend to think that is some sort of disadvantage in this business. They could not be more wrong.
I am meeting one of those men right now, Big Benny. He doesn’t know Daddy sent me to talk to him about the territorial problems our families seem to be having. I was so excited when Daddy came and asked me if I would meet with Big Benny and do him up. He has never let me do this kind of work before; In fact he was a little reluctant at first to even let me in on the family business. He didn’t like the idea of his youngest little girl getting mixed up in his world. Unfortunately for him he taught me how to argue, not to mention, even at the age of twenty-two he still sees me as his little princess.
“He is five minutes late Mia,” Tony whispers to me from behind the bar in his little diner, Behind the Tracks.
“I know,” I reply
He is very anxious. It is not every day that you’re in on a plan to blow up your own diner.
It is 11:07, seven minutes after our scheduled meeting time, that Big Benny strolls in like he owns the place.
I watch him as he looks up and down the diner before he finally realizes it is me he is here to meet. There is no one else there. He takes his seat across from me while the two goons he brought with him sit casually in the booth behind Benny. Already Benny made a mistake. He should have searched me. This is where being a female comes in handy. Big Benny should have searched me. He doesn’t realize I am just as skilled, if not more so, than he is with any weapon. Not to mention I have one taped under the table in case something happens in the two seconds it should take to follow through.
“So,” Benny starts, chuckling under his breath, “How are we going to fix this little problem we’re having?”
This is where I turn on full charm. “Actually, before we begin I’d like to use the ladies room before we get started,” I say batting my long dark lashes, “I’ve been waiting here for a while. I did not want you to come in and think my family stood you up.” I end with smiling the most flirtatious smile my full, blood red lips can accomplish. I also threw in some hair twirling, wrapping my short black hair around my index finger.
“Sure doll,” is al he says to me.
I gracefully get from my seat and walk seductively toward the ladies room, which conveniently has a window. Tony already made sure no one else would be in the diner. He also made his escape as the boys came in. claiming he needed a cigarette and would be right back.
I climb out of the window, a hard thing to do in a tight dress and heels, walk away from the diner, and push the button that would get rid of all Daddy’s territory problems.
